Using static IP addressing

In order to setup static IP addressing you will need to have the following information available:
IP address
Netmask
Gateway
DNS servers

Optional:
Search domains

Switch virtual terminals

The Bluecherry software runs on a seperate X session. In order to make changes to the Ubuntu / system settings please switch to Virtual Terminal 7 by holding down control alt F7. If you are prompted for a login / password please enter the information that you created during installation.

Right click on the network icon in the top corner and select 'Edit Connections'

Note: Most installations default to Auto eth0. If multiple ethernet cards are installed you may see Auth eth0, Auth eth1, Auth eth2.

Click on the first ethernet card (Auth eth0 for most systems) and click 'Edit'

You will be prompted for the password for the account you created during installation

Click on the IPv4 Settings tab and select the 'Manual' from the Method drop down box

Add the IP address and Netmask and Gateway and DNS server(s). Search domain is optional.

Clicking 'Apply' will save and apply the changes you made.
